Our volunteers are trained to support the needs of the audience we serve in order to ensure the interactions are safe for the miniature therapy horses and our friends. Our volunteers work with the mini therapy horses in the barn to learn their personalities so that each interaction with our children or adults can be maximized to obtain the best overall visit possible, which means working with the children and adults to gain comfort with the minis. This blending of the needs of the mini and audience member allows for maximal engagement and benefit at our visit.
Our volunteers are the backbone of our organization and is a 100 percent volunteer-run organization. Our volunteer team consists of all ages (male and female) who possess skill and experience with horses or business operations. Many of our volunteers hold full time jobs and work with us morning, evening, weekends and holidays. If you are someone interested in creating magical moments to improve physical, mental and emotional well-being with all people, we hope you will consider joining our “herd” of volunteers.
Our wonderful team of volunteers care for our minis, whether feeding them, grooming, exercising, bathing (before and after our visits), giving them “treats” and meet all the needs of our minis. Our volunteers also maintain a safe, clean barn environment for our mini team.
Each volunteer goes through an extensive training program to ensure volunteer comfort and consistency in all aspects of care necessary for our minis not only in the barn but when on site with our friends, children and adults. Our volunteers are required to attend regular meetings to expand their knowledge in all aspects of mini horse care. We monitor our team to ensure their relationship and mini tasks are consistent with their training to ensure up-to-date certification for our team.
We encourage you to consider becoming a volunteer with Mane in Heaven. Please fill out the form below to explore the possibility of becoming part of our volunteer team!
